Shame so few Yankee steamers survived but then again I say that about every country excluding my own. Doesn't help that we keep buying them either, surprised we haven't gotten Dwight back.

It’s also been converted to run on #5 fuel oil...maybe that has something to do with it I dunno

They always used lots of water. UP used water troughs between the rails back in the day. The render had scoops.
Fun fact about the auxiliary tenders they were originally big boy or challenger tenders converted to use as fuel tenders for the turbines.

Two tenders, front tender is the challengers rear is the auxiliary tender. Fo rward tool car behind aux tender houses our water softener for when we take on water and a min i machine shop. Secondary tool car has a kitchen and sleeping quarters in it.
